Repeat Prescriptions

NHS App Repeat Prescriptions

Did you know you can manage repeat prescriptions from The Bridges Medical Practice in the NHS App?

You can easily choose where your prescriptions are sent. So, if you know you'll be away from home or you are moving home, you can change your nominated pharmacy from within the app.

You can also order your prescription at any time that suits you. There’s no need to wait to join a telephone queue or wait until the GP surgery opens.

It’s easy to use, and, if you hit a snag, you can go to ‘Help’ in the top right-hand corner of the app or visit nhs.uk/helpmeapp.

Order Your Repeat Prescription Online

ELECTRONIC PRESCRIPTION SERVICE

We have upgraded to the next phase of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) which will mean that almost all our prescriptions will be processed electronically from 24th March 2020.

You will no longer need to pick up paper prescriptions, your prescription will be available at the pharmacy of your choice.

**Please provide the surgery with a nominated chemist to send it to as you will not be able to collect prescriptions from the surgery**

**Pharmacies are under immense pressure at the moment so please allow as much time as possible before collection**

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

You can register to order prescriptions on-line. Please telephone the surgery and speak to the Reception Team to request online ordering.

Many pharmacies also offer an ordering service.  Please speak to your chosen pharmacy to arrange this.

For safety reasons requests cannot be accepted by telephone as this may lead to mistakes (some drugs have similar names and an error may easily occur).

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
